What StainLookup collects (very little) and what happens to it.

The short version

StainLookup is a static reference site. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, no comment sections, and we run no analytics or tracking of our own. The stain lookup tool runs entirely in your browser — it downloads one data file from this site and does all the matching on your device.

What we don't collect

• We don't ask for your name, email, or any personal information to use the site.
• We set no cookies of our own and run no advertising or analytics scripts.
• The lookup tool sends nothing back to us — your stain searches stay in your browser.

What your browser sends anyway

Like every website, our hosting provider sees standard web-server information when your browser loads a page: your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser type. This is used for security and reliability (for example, blocking abuse), and is handled under our hosting provider's privacy policy. We don't combine it with anything else because there is nothing else to combine it with.

Affiliate and outbound links

Some pages may link to products on other sites (for example, retailers mentioned in treatments). Clicking one takes you to that site, and their privacy policy applies from that point on. We don't receive your personal information from those clicks.

Contacting us

If you email us via the contact page, we'll have your email address and whatever you write — we use that only to reply, and we don't share it.

Children

StainLookup is a general-audience reference and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
